Employee of the Year: Sue Daulton

December 13, 2017

EOTY Rock2
Our employee of the year has been with Generations at Rock Island since September of 2009. She has many years with the facility and never takes a break from her passion and love of her residents. Residents are part of her soul, and to prove this we have a very special resident in our facility that our EOY has a special bond with. This resident has a love for rice. She has eaten rice almost every day of her life, and still wishes to continue that tradition. It could be for comfort, it could be for memories, or it could be because she just loves it, whatever the reason is our employee of the year goes out of her way every day to satisfy this resident’s craving. Our employee cooks a heaping bowl every day and will personally drop it off to ensure our resident has not only her rice, but anything else that may be of need at the time.

Not only does our employee have a clear love of her residents and the elder, but she has a passion for success. For example, she volunteered to help train a co-worker in a different department, who, with the help of our employee of the year, has so far shown much success.

This individual has many areas of expertise, and can always be counted on whenever she is needed.  She not only has the caring aspect for our residents, but she also assists in areas that most people are not willing or able to conquer. My thought, she only wants to see success not only in our residents, but in the facility. With her strong personality as a confident, hard working, honest individual she has truly found success!

Some individuals have a unique, but very clear need to take care of others: love them, clean them, feed them, talk with them, to take care of them until no more.  Well, this individual has clearly found her passion and has pursued it for most of her working career. She is a loving compassionate person and here at Generations at Rock Island, we are grateful every day that WE found her!
